to talk about this and much more, from washington, democratic representative from maryland and member of the joint economic committee, congressman elijah cummings. congressman, thanks very much for being on the show this morning. >> good being with you. >> obviously, bp is one of the major stories we're following. there's an interesting dimension with the naacp sent a letter to the head of bp expressing minority workers given the tougher jobs, the jobs that paid less. have you heard about this? has this concern filtered into the halls of capitol hill? >> yes, i have heard about it. as a matter of fact, i was down there a few weeks ago and heard even then some of those same complaints and apparently things have not gotten much better. not only are they not getting the more decent jobs, they're given jobs that -- where they're not given the safety equipment so that they might stay healthy and not getting any jobs in many instances. a lot of these folks unemployed for a long time and a lot of them are trying to make claims but a lot of them were in situations where they weren't drawing a
